TODAY IN THE GYM
Yes, you read that correctly. Because it was pouring rain today it meant that Friday night track racing was cancelled. So I opted to do some rehab and structural work in the Tête de la Course Supplemental Strength Studio. A.K.A. #GarageProject.
I wanted to race track tonight but the truth is I need the structural and rehab work for my leg. When I do a workout like this, I usually spin on the rollers for 30 minutes on my track bike to warm up then do 30-60 minutes of structural work then spin down for another 15- 30 minutes.
Today’s structural work included: Goblet Squats, Stiff Leg Dead Lifts off a box, Single Leg Dead Lifts and Dead Lifts with the hex bar, Shoulder Dislocates followed by Overhead Squats with very light weight, FLRs, Single Leg Box work, Feet to Hands from a bar, Windmills and some time on a Slide Board. The slide board seems to be helping with the leg rehab so I am predicting quite a bit more of that in my future.
All the above are great movements for cyclists and should be included in every rider’s routine.
