I started racing as a junior in NW Ohio in 1983. My ceiling as an athlete was a very average category 1 racer whose skill set was helping others as a domestique. The lessons I learned from that personal experience was trying to race as efficiently and intelligently as possible as I possess a “limited” physical capacity. This has influenced my approach as a coach and sport director – the most important muscle is the one between your ears so use it to the best of your ability – smarter not harder. Over the years I have done a few things…..
