Logan Owen is back in Europe pursuing more World Cup points and valuable experience on his quest for a World Championship title in KY in February 2013. Here is his first installment from his Euro Cross Camp diary.
After a trans-Atlantic flight to Belgium I met up with Geoff Proctor and everyone else who will be taking part in Euro Cross Camp and the upcoming races over the next few weeks.
Today we got settled in to the new house, one that Cross Camp hasn’t used before. After settling in we went for a ride. All the bikes from every rider had arrived and were assembled which was a welcome surprise since there are 16 riders at the camp this year. Kudos to the mechanics!
We all ate breakfast and headed out for a ride at noon. Most of the guys went for a cross ride but Justine Lindine, Nick Torraca and I rode for 1.5 hours on the road to spin out the legs. Then we came back, cleaned ourselves and the bikes up and played some pool until dinner.
Jim Anderson will be cooking dinner every night which is a huge help! After dinner Geoff had the first official meeting of the camp going over house rules, the way the race days were going to go and fielded any questions that we had.
From what I heard it sounds like the rest of the camp is going to be great and I can’t wait to get racing!
