The Tour de l’Abitibi is an international junior cycling race now in its 56th year. It is one of the nine UCI Junior Nations Cup events and is the only one held in the Americas. During its previous 55-year history it has welcomed racers from over 40 countries and continues to be an excellent springboard for junior riders who aspire to become professionals. The 56th edition will be six stages and just over 700 km in length.
Phase 1 Cycling is honored to have received an invite to compete in this year’s U19 junior men event being held from July 14 to July 19. We will be fielding a team of six riders and are currently accepting applications. Jon Heidemann will be the Phase 1 Sport Director for the 2026 Tour de l”Abitibi. He has directed at Abitibi in the past for the U.S. Junior National team winning the overall in 2019.
Important Dates:
- Sunday July 12 arrive into Montreal then shuttle to Val-d’Or
- Tuesday July 14: Stage 1
- Sunday July 19: Final stage then shuttle to Montreal
- Monday July 20: Fly home from Montreal
Cost of the trip is $1250 and includes:
- Race entry which includes lodging and food
- Professionally licensed team staff
- Phase 1 Team kit custom made by Castelli Cycling
- Transportation to and from races
- Does not include airfare to Montreal
Deposits and Final Payments: All trips require a non-refundable $250 deposit. Full payment is due 40 days in advance of the first day of your program
Refund Policy: All trip deposits and final payments are non-refundable. Our refund policy takes into consideration our planning time and the fact that we have a limited number of spaces on any given program. We also have fixed costs such as securing lodging and vehicles 9 months in advance. When possible we try to be flexible, but we cannot be responsible for scheduling conflicts, training injuries, work/ school related issues, and other obligations that may prevent an individual from attending a program. We are always happy to discuss our refund policies in advance of registration.
Travel & Cancellation Insurance: We suggest you purchase travel insurance for your trip. We are not an insurance agency but we can make some suggestions such as Redpoint Travel Insurance as well as Global Rescue.
